HSS Sponsor Neil

Posted on Mar 31, 2010 in Featured articles, Other News, Project News | 0 comments

HSS Tool Hire have agreed to sponsor us again by putting Neil Lomax, a member of the Save The Trident team, through an abbrasive wheel course in April. Neil will be cutting the Trident prior to the transporting of the aircraft and it is the stipulation today with Health and Safety rules that this course is completed before doing so. The course would have cost £95, but HSS have very kindly given this as a donation in addition to tool hire previously offered. We would very much like to thank David Brannon, Simon Collier and the rest of the HSS tool hire team for their commitment and support to...

Can anyone help with transport?

Posted on Mar 23, 2010 in Featured articles | 0 comments

Donations from people has been excellent and we thank everyone so much. We are still short of our target and need one more push to get to acheiving the move so talk to your friends and work colleagues and contacts and help us get there. We are looking to return in mid May to pick up the parts from Belfast International’s Trident 2E, but require some help. What we need is the use of, or someone to drive for us, a 7.5 ton truck/ Luton van to pick up the parts and bring them back to England. Alternatively, if a company that goes to and from Northern Ireland and has some spare room in a...

Neil Lomax’s talk at the Royal Aeronautical Society covered the Hawker Siddeley HS.121 Trident aircraft, his work on preserving G-AWZK at Manchester, and introduced the campaign to save G-ARPO. The talk was enjoyed by all, and to top it off the organisation donated money from a raffle held at the event to our project, which will go towards saving our aircraft. A big thank you to the organisers for this, and thanks to Neil for his presentation. You can read all about RAes...

Skipbridge Signs Offer Support

Posted on Mar 17, 2010 in Featured articles, Project News | 1 comment

Skipbridge Signs, based in Darlington, have offered us support in our project in two very useful areas. First of all, they have offered the use of a Cherry Picker whenever we need it. This will be useful when dismantling our Trident at its current site, which will require a lot of cutting and will result in plenty of bits and pieces that we need to transport or dispose of. Secondly, Skipbridge have offered to create a sign for us to display on the aircraft when we transport it. Argie Ward from Skipbridge has made this very generous offer to our cause, so we want to publicly thank him. The...

Help from Fosters Forestry & Gardens

We’ve had a very kind offer of help from Fosters Forestry & Gardens, based near Darlington. They offer an excellent range of tree services both domestically and commercially, and have a lot of experience. Have a look at their website here: Fosters have kindly offered use of a Transit van when it comes to removing scrap metal and other items from G-ARPO during her dismantling and the period leading up to her removal from site. They’re on hand for any logistics help we need, so we really appreciate it. Make sure you consider them for any tree or garden...
