Two out of three: Yellow paint applied!

The Save The Trident team had a productive day today, making use of dry weather to apply another of the distinctive colours of Northeast Airlines. Yellow paint was added to the top of the fuselage above the window line. As you can see from the pictures here, it is very bright and something we haven’t seen on a Trident since the 1970s!   The yellow colour will need another couple of coats to ensure it’s fully covered and the correct colour. 175 pilots in our logs!

We’ve recently reached a milestone that we never thought possible… Since starting to collect the flying logs of our Trident’s life, we have now managed to find 175 pilots who all flew G-ARPO and have kindly given us details of the flights they made in her. Many of these pilots have been fantastic at telling us stories about flying G-ARPO, and what life was like flying Tridents for BEA or British Airways back in the day.
