Wing Welding Work Commences

We’ve had a fantastic couple of days working on G-ARPO. We welcomed K D Flavell Welding on site who spent yesterday repairing and securing parts of the port wing stub on the fuselage, and one of the wing tips using aluminium kindly supplied by Metal Supermarkets in Gateshead. As well as welcoming visitors to the museum on board the aircraft on Saturday, we managed to paint primer onto the wing stubs and repaired area on the main wing to protect them.   As well as K D Flavell we had very kind support from Lord Hire Centres who provided a generator to enable us to do the work. The aluminium sheeting has been cut to size ready for us to use when repairing the wings of our Trident aircraft. They also kindly delivered the metal to the museum for us. Save The Trident Summer Fundraising

To facilitate some urgent works and the supplies needed to see them through, Save The Trident is opening a fundraising pledge for Summer 2017. Our target is to raise £300 this summer. The money will be used on supplies and contractors being used in the restoration of our aircraft’s wings, amongst other things.
