Landing gear strengthened, cabin cleaned

More progress is being made on G-ARPO at the museum. Over the past couple of days, KD Flavell Welding came up to help us strengthen the top of one main landing gear struts as it was showing signs of weakening under the weight of the aircraft. This is unfortunately a side effect of where we had to cut the wing off. Nevertheless, Flavell stepped up to the task and have inserted a strong steel plate to give it more than enough strength. Final Preparations part 2

Before we move G-ARPO, we wanted to patch up two cracks in the wing stubs that appeared when we removed the wings. So members of the team met at the site today to carry out this work, which will strengthen the aircraft for the move to Sunderland. Flavell Welding came across to help us do this work, and were very experienced and helpful in their approach to the work. We also had help from HSS Hire who provided a generator for the work.
