Latest Progress – Meeting Hauliers and Airport

Tony travelled to Durham Tees Valley Airport last week to meet with a couple of hauliers and crane reps to discuss the needs of the move. Being in the presence of G-ARPO made it easier to explain and discuss the plans and potential problems, and has enabled each of the companies to go away and put together quotes for their part. We are hoping to get some good prices as we are not flush with money to spend. Structural Survey Complete

On Friday 23 October, members of the Save The Trident team met up at Durham Tees Valley to inspect the aircraft inside and out. The purpose of this is to ensure the aircraft is suitable to be moved to its new home, and that no part of it will prove unsafe, or beyond hope of restoration. Bruce Partington, a qualified aircraft engineer, joined Tony Jarrett, Neil Lomax and Matt Falcus and staff at the Serco International Fire Training Centre in inspecting G-ARPO.
