** UPDATE 2 May 2021
You have done it!
Thank you so much for your generosity. We have been able to reach our £1,000 fundraising target in only a week!
We are very grateful for all of you that supported us with donations via Paypal and direct to our account. We now have the funds in place to make a start THIS MONTH on these works, and we’ll be posting updates about them so that you can see what your donations have helped to achieve.
Save The Trident is launching a new round of fundraising to allow further progress on our bid to save and full restore the world’s last complete Trident 1C airliner.
This year we have a number of essential works to keep our aircraft and its parts in good condition pending the future full reassembly of the wings and tail sections.
In order to keep on top of refurbishments we need to do the following:
- Buy specialist paints and primers.
- Pay for any equipment hire.
Essential works include refurbishing and painting the wings, painting the underside of the fuselage, flipping over the tail fin and painting one side (the other side was done last year), painting underneath the horizontal stabiliser and repainting parts of the cabin.
How much are we raising?
Our fundraising target this year is £1,000.
We really hope fans of our project and aircraft will consider donating towards our funds. Our volunteers work for free, but in many cases we need to pay for materials and specialists in order to safeguard it for the future.
When will the aircraft be reassembled?
We are not in a position to be able to add the wings and tail to the aircraft fuselage at the moment. The museum is hoping to add more space and a permanent position for our Trident where this will be possible, but at the moment we are unable to progress with final reassembly.
This is frustrating for us all, but we need to keep on top of other jobs like making sure the aircraft is protected from the elements, and kept looking in good condition for our visitors.
How to donate
We really appreciate any financial help you can give us. All proceeds go directly towards saving this rare and historic aircraft.
Donations can be made via Paypal or bank transfer.
To transfer directly to our bank account, please email us for the details.
